Show and Tell: April Charms, Beads & Pendants!

It's been a while since I made a haul post. And I'm excited to show you some of the supplies I got last month. Better late than never, right? :) I have already incorporated some of them on my new designs, so one or two might look familiar to you.

Show and Tell: New Charm Bracelets

I have been on a hiatus for a month, and going back to beading was not as easy as I thought. Before, I used to make five bracelets in one night! But last month was a completely different story. I spent around an hour playing around with the material, redesigning bracelets over and over again and basically, I just couldn't make up my mind.

Good thing I chose to sleep it off and when morning came, I was able to create my first ever charm bracelet since downtime. And much to my surprise, I was easily able to make two others for my new collection. :)

Show and Tell: Handcuff Short Necklace

Not an original design at all. But, I can't help but make my own version of the dainty handcuff necklace because..well..it's cute! Here are some pictures of the Handcuff Short Necklace which I recently added to my shops' inventory.

Making this necklace was relatively easy. The design is simple plus I had this in my mind since forever! I tell you, this particular design has haunted me in my dreams! *wink* It took me quite a while to find these charms, but when I did..BOOM! Got a few pieces and made them into necklaces. :)

Show and Tell: A Writer's Charm Dangles

Do you know Phil from Wongfu Productions? Well, he's the reason why I started journaling again. This post definitely left an impression on me. I used to do this everyday and it made me feel good. But when college started, I kind of drifted away from writing. Don't get me wrong, blogging is one of the best things I have ever done! However, I feel like there are some stories that need to be kept to myself.

Inspiration comes in the most unexpected places and who would have thought me getting back to journaling sparked the creation of this piece: A Writer's Charm Dangles. I planned a TOTALLY DIFFERENT design for this earrings but things really didn't turn out right with what I initially had in mind. :D

SHOW and TELL: My New Friend!

One more item in my wishlist down! Even though I have been doing the hobby for over a year now, I only got MY OWN BEAD BOARD yesterday. It's my birthday gift to myself. :)

Bead boards are used to lay down the design for beaded bracelets and necklaces. It also has markings so you'll know how long the working design already is. Thank god! I don't have to work with tape measures anymore (but I can still use it for chained jewelry pieces).

The reason why the bead board stayed in my wishlist too long is because, to me, they are a bit pricey. I'm always thinking that I don't really need it as much as the other tools like pliers, findings, etc. because I can still design accessories even without it. The regular price of Php 250-300 was too much. With that money, I can buy more chains and charms which are more important. But luckily, an online beading shop was having a clearance sale on all available items. And lucky me got to the beading board first for only Php150 (from Php250). Yay! :)

FIRST IMPRESSIONS. From the pictures, I thought the bead board was made with hard (and heavy) plastic. But the beadboard that arrived was lightweight. Sorta like the platic cupcake racks you see in the malls. The bead board's surface is made out of felt to keep the beads from rolling off and of course several "pockets" are incorporated to carry various beads and findings.

However, there are a few defects with the board that can't be ignored. :( From the following pictures you'll know what I mean...

Good thing that's that. Because if it arrived broken I so want my money back. :D Over all, I love my new friend. I hope it will last long because I have SO many ideas in my mind and all of them involved gorgeous beads! In fact, here's one that I'm cooking up:

Up until now, I'm still deciding which direction to go with this one. As of the mean time, back to studying for my exam. :D Til next post! Ciao!

SHOW and TELL: Personal Necklace Collection PART 1

Sharing a few pics of my own jewelry collection. :)

First up are necklaces made by Carla of ClayBaby.

Like what I shared in a previous post,

I buy MOST of the necklaces, bracelets, and earrings (MOST ESPECIALLY the earrings)

that I wear every day. :D

The necklace below is a gift I gave to mama for her birthday...buuuut..

we share a lot of stuff so this one is mine as well! :D nayahaha!

The pendant is made with polymer clay (red roses) and embellished with

glass and czech beads, lucite flowers and crystals.

All these are carefully wire wrapped on an antique filigree by Miss Carla herself! Sweet! :)

Beaded chain was designed by me and the bead pattern on this one inspired my Autumn Charm Bracelet from my February Collection.

This one here is one of my fave neckpieces. :)

Floral Cameo pendant is made with polymer clay and handmade by Miss Carla. :)
